2025 Lunar New Year Events

2025 Lunar New Year Calendar of Events

The Lunar New Year or Spring Festival is commonly referred to as Chinese New Year, Tết in Vietnamese, Seollal (설날)  in Korean, Losar ལོ་གསར in Tibet, and Tsagaan Sar in Mongolian.  It is one of the most celebrated holidays in Asia and many Asian-American communities throughout the United States.

2025 is the Year of the Wood Snake.  The Lunar New Year begins on Wednesday, January 29th, and celebrations typically last 15 days. The snake is the sixth sign in the 12-year cycle of the Chinese zodiac, and each year is represented by an animal. The snake is associated with wisdom, elegance, charm, and transformation. People born in the Year of the Snake are considered intuitive, strategic, and intelligent.

Below are a few public events in and around Northeast Ohio.  Please check back for more information and events as they become available.
