Voting in the 2020 Presidential Election in Ohio

Make your voice heard by first making a plan to vote!

There are three ways to vote in Ohio.

VOTE-BY-MAIL

One way of voting before Election Day is to vote by absentee ballot by voting by mail.  You can request a ballot to be mailed to you:

  • In Cuyahoga county, you can request your vote by mail application at 443vote.us
  • In Ohio, you can request your vote by mail application at VoteOhio.gov
  • Or visit vote.org to find your local board of elections

Once you receive your ballot by mail, be sure to follow directions for voting on the ballot and the return envelopes.

  • You can drop off your ballot at an official drop box (open 24/7 until when polls close on Election Day (7:30 p.m. in Ohio).
  • You can also return your mail-in ballot through the mail or your county’s board of election office.
  • You can track your absentee ballot on your county elections or secretary of state website at VoteOhio.gov

VOTE EARLY IN-PERSON

You can also vote early in-person at certain early voting locations in your county.

In Cuyahoga County, you can vote at the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections:

Bring ID.  Ohio law requires that every voter, upon appearing at the polling place to vote on Election Day, must announce his or her full name and current address and provide proof of identity.  Click here for a list of acceptable forms of identification.
