Lunar New Year Words

2022 Lunar New Year Calendar

The Lunar New Year or Spring Festival is commonly referred to as Chinese New Year, Tết in Vietnamese, Seollal (설날)  in Korean, Losar ལོ་གསར in Tibet, and Tsagaan Sar in Mongolian.  It is one of the most celebrated holidays in Asia and many Asian-American communities throughout the United States.

2022 is the Year of the Water Tiger which begins on Tuesday, February 1st, and lasts up to fifteen days.  The holiday is a time for renewal, new clothes, lucky greetings, and feasting for family and friends.  It is celebrated with lucky symbolic foods, family reunions, and time spent with friends and loved ones.  Those born in the year of the Tiger are said to be brave, competitive, charming, authoritative, and confident.
