5/2/2025 - We had a wonderful time tabling with the Cleveland Asian Festival crew to kick off Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month at MIX: Amplify, a dance party showcasing Cleveland’s vibrant AAPI cultural landscape. The event featured dance performances by LingYun Rising Star Gymnastics Dance School and Stellar Acrobatic Dance Academy, DJ PikaChieu, a fashion presentation with Fashion Talks, and a Bollywood DJ set featuring DJ Sobe and the Indian Student Organization from Cleveland State University (CSU).Next is the 16th Annual Cleveland Asian Festival on May 17 and 18 in Asiatown. The festival includes cultural performances and martial arts demonstrations on two outdoor stages, a World Marketplace with over 120 vendors and exhibitors, and more than 35 food vendors and trucks serving authentic Asian foods, drinks, and desserts! We share this message because immigrants are unfairly stigmatized.Cleveland has a long-standing tradition of embracing newcomers, from the Irish, Italian, and German immigrants of the 1800s and 1900s to those from Asia, Africa, and the Americas over the last century. Our community is enhanced by this hospitality. Our economy thrives, our cuisine is more diverse, and our lives are enriched as a result. The " You Mean the World " campaign conveys a straightforward message: immigration is beneficial. This initiative highlights the stories, experiences, and statistics that substantiate this narrative.Follow the campaign @youmeantheworldcleLearn more at www.youmeantheworld.com#youmeantheworldcle ...
