Parade The Circle with OCA Cleveland Dragon Dance Team

The OCA Greater Cleveland Dragon Dance Team trained five dragon-like Centinels and led the entire  Parade The Circle on June 11, 2016.  The event had over 80,000 spectators  to help celebrate the 100th Anniversary of The Cleveland Museum of Art.   Robin Vanlear the parade director saw the OCA Dragon performance last fall and was inspired to create the lead exhibit with “100” dancing feet (50 performers with 5 dragons) representing the Museum’s Centennial.  It was a great opportunity for OCA GC to showcase Asian culture in a colorful, fun, and inviting way.  OCA members helped train the other performers, many from the Inlet Dance Company, and also helped hand-make the 5 dragon-like puppets.  Training the dancers was by OCAGC Asian American Advocates V.P. Wayne Wong and coordination was by dragon member Siu Yan Scott.
